Is your uterus happy?
This may seem like a strange question. If you suffer from PMS, menstrual cramps, menopausal or peri-menopausal symptoms, headaches or migraines with your period, varicose veins, endometriosis, bladder infections, chronic miscarriages, or infertility there is a good chance your uterus is unhappy, prolapsed or tipped.
A healthy and happy uterus is dependent on optimal circulation of blood, Qi, nervous function, lymph, as well as good nutrient and mineral balance.
7 Healthy Tips for a Happy Uterus:
1.Walking is a wonderful free exercise that gets your heart pumping, your diaphragm descending for optimal digestion and breathing and your legs moving for good circulation. Walking also boosts the "good cholesterol" and lowers the "bad cholesterol" in your blood, which helps to keep the heart healthy. All of these things are necessary for a healthy uterus.
2. Yoga, especially inverted poses like downward dog, and partial or full headstands help the uterus go back into the proper position allowing for good circulation.
3. Greens, such as stinging nettles, kale, spinach, collard greens, etc, are very important for both alkaline balance as well as mineral balance for optimal nervous function. Women who drink 2-4 cups of stinging nettle tea daily and eat cooked leafy greens as well as lettuce salads are getting the abundant folic acid, calcium, magnesium, and other minerals needed to create a healthy baby.
4. Green Drinks such as spirulina, chlorella, oat grass and wheat grass are wonderful sources of minerals and high in chlorophyll. Wheatgrass is also an excellent source of vitamins A, B, C, E and K, as well as calcium, chlorine, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, sulphur, cobalt and zinc. The chemical structure of the chlorophyll molecule and its similarity to the hemin molecule of hemoglobin makes wheatgrass quickly utilized by the human blood stream, giving the human body the fundamental components to eliminate disease and regenerate itself. (Hemoglobin is one of the major components of our blood) Good strong blood and the proper mineral balance are essential for a healthy fetus.
5. Seeds and Oils and good fats are necessary for optimal hormone production. Some good sources of cholesterol are Flax seed oil, fish oil, olive oil, canola oil, almonds, cashews, avocados among many other sources. Flax seed oil is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, especially alpha-linolenic acid, which appears to be beneficial for preventing heart disease, inflammatory bowel disease, arthritis and a variety of other health conditions. Flaxseed also contains a group of chemicals called lignans that may play a role in the prevention of cancer. Studies have shown that Mothers with low serum cholesterol levels are significantly more likely to deliver premature babies, or full-term babies with lower weight, according to the study, "Adverse Birth Outcomes Among Mothers With Low Serum Cholesterol." Researchers studied 118 women with low total cholesterol (less than the 10th percentile) and 940 women with mid-range cholesterol levels.
6. Castor Oil is derived from the bean of the Ricinus communis or Palma Christi plant (Palm of Christ). The Palma Christi has been used for therapeutically for centuries in the folk medicine of ancient India, China, Persia, Africa, Greece, Rome, and the Americas. It has large, beautiful palmate leaves hence the name, Palma Christi.
Used externally, castor oil has been used to treat a variety of health conditions such as arthritis, liver and intestinal disorders, tumors, cysts, and skin conditions. Taken internally, castor oil is a strong cathartic and is not recommended as there are ways to relieve constipation that are not as harsh. Some of the numerous uses of castor oil include the treatment of breast cysts, fibroids, and ovarian cysts, congestion of abdominal organs, skin conditions, small benign cysts, and adhesions from surgery. Wherever there is congestion, decreased blood flow and need for healing, castor oil can be an effective treatment option.
Castor oil has a unique chemical profile rich in ricinoleic acid which is known to exist in nature only in castor oil. Double blind studies conducted by the Association for Research and Enlightenment, Inc. demonstrated an increase in lymphocyte production and the level of activity of T-cell lymphocytes in the group that used castor oil packs. T-cell lymphocytes originate from bone marrow and the thymus gland, identify and kill invaders such as virus, bacteria, and fungi. In addition to strengthening the immune system, castor oil appears to have a balancing effect on the autonomic nervous system, increasing liver activity and improving digestion.
7. Maya Abdominal Massage is a non invasive external massage of the abdomen that increases circulation around the reproductive organs allowing for the proper balance of hormones, minerals for optimal nervous function, ad good circulation of lymph. Many women have a laundry list of physical and emotional symptoms that can be addressed and prevented with these simple, noninvasive massage techniques. When reproductive organs shift, they can constrict the normal flow of blood and lymph, and disrupting nerve connections. Just a few extra ounces sitting on blood and lymph vessels can cause havoc throughout the different systems in the body. By shifting the uterus back into place, homeostasis, or the natural balance of the body, is restored in the pelvic area and the surrounding organs. Toxins are flushed and nutrients that help to tone tissue and balance hormones are restored to normal order. This is essential for healthy pregnancy, labor, and delivery.

Helpful Information that you might like to have
This information has been copied/pasted directly from her email (with her permisson) Below she mentions a file that she has sent with more information. If you wish to receive this file, please email me at cheri22@gmail.com with "FILE PLEASE" in the subject line and I will send it to you.
Lowering FSHwheatgrass
acupuncture or acupressure
yoga
deep breathing
massage
reduction of inflammatory agents and toxins (detoxifying foods and anti-inflammatory)
balancing hormones: ginseng, maca root, red raspberry leaf
Stress, inflammation, poor egg quality and poor signaling between the ovaries and pitiuary gland.
reversing Menopause
melatonin 3 mgDHEA 75 mg (helps with improving egg quality as well)
These are some basics for finding balance and getting periods to resume, but just because you have a period does not mean that you are ovulation or that you will conceive. The things listed above are things that have been shown to have benefits based on research and not anecdotal evidence.
FSH is based on a 3 month cycle and depends on the egg quality. So, ideally if one can improve the quality of the eggs the FSH will come down and there is a better chance for conceiving. I would recommend a detoxifying/anti-inflammatory diet along with stress reduction, the wheatgrass, and the DHEA. I think that the tendency is to try all these products at once and it is not clear how all of these herbs/supplements interact with each other and the fertility medications that one might be on. Also, weight loss can help if the individual is overweight (5-10% body weight reduction). This reduction improves insulin sensitivity which plays a role in estrogen balance.
The diet plan gets a little complicated because each person is different and is going to need a different diet. Also, they will need different supplementation for vitamins and minerals depending on how they metabolizes these nutrients. To determine this gene testing is needed. Also, determining allergens and/or sensitivities is needed to be able to remove inflammatory foods. If this cannot be done doing a basic elimination diet for a month is good.
I attached a handout about detoxifacation I made for a presentation. It gets into the nuts and bolts. With anything medical individuals wanting to change their diet or incorporate supplements/herbs in with their regimen should consult their healthcare provider. There is a lot to consider when dealing with an individual. Normally, I work with the individuals physician to get labs, medication list, and medical history. Discussing alternative treatments with the physician should always be undertaken. If you feel like your physician will be judgemental or will not listen then it is time for you to get another physician. You the patient is in charge of your care and as such you are part of the care team with the doctor. I know that it does not always work that way in western medicine. I have been there angry frustrated because my RE was dismissive, but there are some good doctors out there that are blended western and eastern medicine together you have to search for them.

I swear sometimes the information that comes through sounds crazy!
Tonight while connecting with a loved one who had passed over, my client was hoping that they could help with fertility information that would be helpful. This woman was very full of advice, and very "old school". Wanting to share information that helped her achieve pregnancy. She gave me the impression it was an "oil" that she actually took on a regular basis for good health, but believes it aided her in her feritlity at a "mature" age. I have approval from this woman to pass this information onto my clients in the hopes that those of you might want to look into this further and see if its right for you. I have left out any identifying information to my client to protect their privacy.
Some "oils" to look into and explore.
There are several oils that are reported to help increase fertility. The first is Clary sage, a golden yellow oil. This earthy oil is said to help calm nerves and reduce stress. It is also considered to have aphrodisiac properties. Rubbed into the skin over the reproductive organs it is said to help balance estrogen levels and remedy infertility.
Rose essential oil is another great choice to increase fertility. It has a pleasing, soothing scent. Like Clary sage, it is said to have aphrodisiac properties. Rose is excellent for enhancing both male and female fertility. Have your man take warm (not hot) baths with several drops of rose oil in the water. You can do the same. This will increase sperm count in him and help enhance reproductive health in you.
Rosemary was traditionally woven into bridal headdresses because it was believed to grant fertility to young brides. The essential oil of rosemary is also seen to have fertility enhancing properties. Rosemary oil, diluted in gentle carrier oil, can be rubbed between the hip bones to help sooth inflammation in reproductive organs, or to help open blockages. Men may also find this helps.
Finally the versatile and ever pleasing lavender oil is useful for increasing fertility. Lavender is soothing and has slight aphrodisiac effects, both of which help to make lovemaking more pleasurable. This pleasure allows for the right temperature, lubrication, and alkalinity for conception to be present in the body. Lavender oil is wonderful equalizing oil and is gentle enough to be used right on the skin or as carrier oil for drops of other fertility enhancers.
Exploring aromatherapy for fertility enhancement is just plain fun. You will love to surround yourself with the luscious and pleasing scents. Cool oils also feel good rubbed into your skin. The relaxing properties of oils will help ease your mind, and of course aphrodisiac effects will help the baby-making events happen a little easier.

Popeye the sailor man....
The fun thing about this topic is that I was doing a reading for a client and was going over her husands information that I got from his picture and her reiki session. They told me to suggest he eat a bit more spinach. I thought that was funny and like most people google alot of the "silly" things that they tell me to pass on... and guess what... ITS TRUE! Here is what I found!
"Maintaining a balanced diet and eating more “sperm-friendly” foods are a good start in preserving sperm health. Foods rich in amino acids are generally recommended. Spinach is widely known for its abundance of amino acids. You may try to incorporate this vegetable as much as you can in your diet and take advantage of its unique benefits. Other foods to try may include tuna, turkey, sesame seed and egg whites, as they will surely boost semen production.
Do you know that aside from addressing male sexual health concerns, if you increase semen volume, it will impact your sexual life in the most positively incredible way? Yes, producing bigger loads can make a sexual experience more pleasurable and your orgasms more intense. It also allows you to recover faster between ejaculations, thus allowing you and your partner to engage in longer bouts of sex!"
Zinc is an essential component in preserving sperm quality and adequate ejaculate volume. It goes without saying that the more zinc your body receives, the greater the chances of producing healthier and more viable sperms. The same can be said for selenium, which is useful in addressing low sperm count issue, and enhance male fertility.

Can yoga enhance your fertility?
So if you have tried everything, why not try this too! Regardless, its going to help you to be more relaxed, more spiritual and more in control.
I located this article that I thought might be useful.
Supported Bridge Pose
Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Move your feet as close to your buttocks as possible. Inhale and exhale, and then slowly raise your pelvis and buttocks off the floor, while keeping your thighs and inner feet parallel. Clasp your hands behind your back. Hold this pose, while breathing deeply, for a minute or so.
Legs on Wall Pose
Lie on the ground with your buttocks close to a wall. Slowly inhale and exhale, while extending your legs up the side of the wall. Rest your legs on the wall so that you create a 90 degree angle at your pelvis. Hold for two minutes and then release your legs slowly.
Cobbler’s Pose
Sit on the floor with your legs stretched out straight in front of you. While inhaling, bring your feet towards your groin, and push the soles of your feet together. Slowly try to lower your knees to the ground while holding on to your toes. Hold this posture, without straining your legs, for between one and five minutes.

Crystals that promote fertility?
You can find alot of these crystals online, or in speciality shops that you would buy tarot cards, or rocks/beads for jewellery. I managed to find this site, which listed the following!
Okay Crystals are really good for lots of things, healing, channeling blood flow etc and they are also very pretty!
I wear a rose quartz around my wrist as it is the love stone but also the friendship stone!
For fertility the best stones (according to my crystal bible are):
* Moonstone - the affects the female reproductive cycles and alleviates menstrual related disease (I assume PMT)
* Cinnabar - heals and purifies blood, stabilize weight (I need some) and enhance fertility (yay)
* Garnet Grossularite - This stone enhances fertility and aids assimilation of Vitamin A
* Jade - It assists in fertility and child birth. it works on the hips and spleen and balances the fluid in the body
* Rose Quartz - aids and help fertility. Is the stone of love and friendship, increases bonds
* Thulite - a dramatic stone with a powerful link to life force. It enhances fertility and treats disease of the reproductive organs (tis stone should be placed on skin or pubic bone as appropriate)
* Rhodonite - stimulates fertility
* Zoisite - this stone stimulates fertility and heals diseases of the ovaries ad testicles, when combined with Ruby it increases potency - slow acting stone so will need to be worn over time
* Tektite - can be worn as a talisman for fertility on all levels
also stones linked to the fallopian tubes and the female reproductive system are:
Chrysprase, Carnelian, amber, topaz and unakite
for the male tests: jadeite, topaz, carnelian and variscite
If you do decide to try the crystals, its always best to "cleanse" them first. Most people will put them in a dark bag (or cloth) and sleep with them under your pillow for one night:) its usually the best way to cleanse them and allow them to pick up your own vibrations. Then either keep it on you (close to you if possible) and touch it frequently.. holding it in your hand...etc.. Or under your pillow at night (not in a cloth)
As for my mom's friend. Things are not looking good. Shes still not breathing on her own. They wont know for another few days on what to do. Wish it was easier for her, and they wont allow anyone in there except immediate family so we hear all of our information second hand.

Can what you eat affect the sperm?
Also, I have been getting alot of people interested in the webcam readings and thinking its a good idea.. Right now, I am just going to offer it for free while I get used to it. I really would like to "perfect" it before offering it as a service to my clients. This way I can work out any "bugs" in regards to connecting, or even getting it to work. I have also been requested to offer an option on my site to have the reading expedited for those of you who dont want to wait for the schedule. At this time, I am thinking about it, but not going to do it just yet. I have about 3 weeks worth of scheduled requests, and really do not want to bump anyone. Now that my daughter is off school and things are a bit more "mellow" I think that I will have a bit more time to do the readings, so will start there!
Many men believe that their masculinity is connected to their performance in the bedroom. We have all heard the statement that size matters. Well, that's not entirely true. You might be happy with your size but if you're shooting blanks then the effort seems futile. This is especially true if you are trying to start a family. Most adult films focus on the money shots and the sheer power behind them. Adult film star Peter North has made quite a name for himself by averaging over 4 feet!
You may laugh and think that this is outrageous, and it may be, but there is something to be learnt from it. If you take your sexual performance seriously then you will want to know what simple foods can have a profound impact on the motility and force behind your ejaculation.
We have all heard that oysters are a great aphrodisiac but many do not understand why. Foods that are rich in zinc help increase sperm fertility and production. Other foods that are high in zinc include lamb, turkey, red meat (great news for meat lovers), barley, wheat, beans, nuts and pumpkin seeds.
Vitamins also play a key role in the health and well being of your little guys, but more specifically vitamin C, E, and B12 are essential for their antioxidant properties and for boosting the production of sperm. Vitamin C and E also help to increase your sperms motility (swimming ability) which is huge if you are trying to start a family.
Amino Acids L-arginine, and L-cartinine commonly found in spinach, tuna, seaweed (spirulina), egg whites and turkey are a value added source for increasing semen production.
Brazil nuts, red meat, poultry, cottage cheese, and eggs are a great source of selenium which is another mineral that improves the motility of your sperm. Don't forget to add ketchup! That's right, lycopene commonly found in tomatoes and ketchup has been proven to increase men's sperm count. Other foods that contain lycopene include pink grapefruit and guava.
Okay, so now we turn to the rabbit food, leafy greens and vegetables like asparagus, beets, and broccoli which contain Folate (more commonly known as Folic Acid). Folic Acid contains iron, and foods that are rich in iron are key to increasing sperm production and are vital for healthy sperm.
There are a few herbs that are very popular and have been used for centuries to help men raise their sexual powers. If you are looking to raise your testosterone level then you should try Maca, which is a plant that has been used to raise the testosterone levels in men for centuries. The herb Tribulus Terrestris is also known for increasing testosterone production. Saw Palmetto is used to stimulate the glands that are connected to semen production.
A good diet goes along way but don't forget to drink plenty of water! Water is essential for avoiding dehydration which is one of the main factors associated with low semen volume. A multi-vitamin is also recommended.
If you still are looking for a simple way to help raise your semen production and the power behind your ejaculation, then consider a product like Semenax
which is a 100% natural formula containing those crucial ingredients like zinc, folic acid, vitamins C, E and B12, and amino acids L-arginine and L-cartinine. Semenax has helped thousands of men improve their sexual functioning and has doubled the volume of men's sperm all across the world.

Changing the world, one sperm at a time
Her reply "OMG Cheri I got it and I just read the first line and I’m sitting here crying because yes my husbands sperm are low and he has been taking wheat germ "
I then of course wanting to pass any information I find out to my other clients that will help with trying to concieve, asked her about the wheat germ that they are taking. I thought it would be beneficial to those of you who would be interested in finding out things that are beneficial to helping with the sperm. Here is the information that she wanted to pass along. If you have any questions about it, post in the comment section and I will get you the answers:)
My doctor immediately told my husband to start taking wheat germ once she saw his sperm count being low, she said it would help with the mobility(shape) so i started reading online and found out that taking wheat germ when trying to convieve is beneficial to both female and male when struggling with low sperm count.
so we take two teaspoons daily usually at night because it is soooo gross :)
We figure according to the doctor to take it daily until we get pregnant.
we take it with soy chocolate milk to mask the taste :)

How to keep trying to concieve fun
- Step 1
Don’t let it stress you out that you aren’t pregnant yet. Nothing dampens libido like stress. Unfortunately, stress related to the results of your sex life can be the worst possible stress for your sex life! Do things outside the bedroom with your partner---and alone---to de-stress. Trying working
out , taking a yoga class, painting or another activity you enjoy. - Step 2
Stay positive. Even though you may feel like moping when it seems like everyone you have ever known and every celebrity under the sun is pregnant and you’re not, fight that urge. If you must, allow yourself one day a month to feel bad for yourself. Let the first day of your period be the first, and only, day you let yourself be negative that cycle. Know that you’re doing everything you possibly can to get pregnant and try to have faith that it will happen.
- Step 3
Try something new in bed. A new study suggests that daily sex for seven days improves the quality of your partner’s sperm. Having sex every day, however, can get a little boring. Trying something new that you’re both comfortable with can be a great way to create variety in your daily baby-dance routine. Try using a toy, watching an adult movie, buying new lingerie or sharing your fantasies with each other.
- Step 4
Vary the place and time. Get out of the bedroom---and onto the couch, the guest bed, or the living room floor! If you normally wait until bedtime, try setting your clock a little early for some morning baby-making. Anything that creates variety in your quest to conceive can make it more enjoyable.
- Step 5
Focus your efforts. Do some research online or at your library to learn when you’re most likely to conceive. You may find out you’ve been trying too early or too late in your cycle. If you’re going to try for a baby seven days in a row, you should ensure that you’re focusing your efforts on the days before, the day of, and the day after you believe you’ve ovulated. You may find that using a basal body
temperature thermometer, which can be found at most drugstores for under ten dollars, will be all you need to better plan your schedule. You can graph your temperatures yourself, or use a free website like FertilityFriend.com to quickly record and graph the information. - Step 6
Give yourself a break if necessary. Sometimes, no matter how fertile you are, you or your partner just doesn’t feel up to it. Don’t beat yourselves up over it. If you’re too tired one night, try first thing the next morning. Relieving the pressure to perform on command helps mitigate stress and may even boost the romance in your sex life.
- Step 7
Know when to see a doctor. If you’ve been trying for a year and you aren’t pregnant, see your doctor. If you’re over 35, see a doctor after six months of trying. Even if it hasn’t been that long, there’s nothing wrong with making an appointment to see your doctor if you’re worried. If that peace of mind is what you need to be relaxed about the process, you should go ahead and do it!

Supplements that are beneficial for PCOS…
Baby and Me Prenatal
A major part of decreasing the effects of PCOS and preparing the uterine lining is to take a prenatal multivitamin. Making sure your body has all of the nutrients necessary is a lot easier when you are taking a multivitamin. My favorite is the 100% whole food Baby and Me from Mega Food. Synthetic multivitamins won’t have the same effect.
Vitex
Vitex Extract (Chaste Tree Berry) is one of the most powerful herbs for women’s fertility and menstrual health. There are numerous studies and testimonials of Vitex and it’s effects on the body. One of the reasons Vitex is so effective for women who are not ovulating due to PCOS, is because of its ability to balance hormones while not containing hormones itself. Vitex supports hormonal balance in the body by having an effect on the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis (hormonal feedback loop), correcting the problem at the source.
Progesterone
If you have PCOS use 15 to 20 mg of progesterone cream daily for the last two weeks of your cycle.
DIM
DIM balances the hormones and aids in the breakdown of estrogen. Estrogen is a major culprit to many of the fertility issues women face today including PCOS.
MorDHA
Eating essential fatty acids (EFA’s) helps you to lose weight, produce balanced hormones, and creates a healthy environment for conception. EFA’s have been shown to support hormonal balance and production.

Fertility spells?
I have mentioned numerous times about being positive, about being focused and making sure that your not stressed. I have given directions on how to use my positive thinking exercises to help with conception. Now I guess this could be considered a "spell" but I think of it more as a way to invoke your mind and body to cooperate.. Perhaps the power of mind and laws of attraction..etc.
Now I was googling something today that pointed me to a site that had "fertility" spells, or "pregnancy" spells, and some of them are easy and more importantly FREE. I do think that things like this are more about mind over matter and have a way of drawing the energies that you want to manifest.. so like a spell, only stronger.
Here is a "sample" of what I found on the site, feel free to check the site out for any interest or others you might like to try (link located below)
GETTING PREGNANT SPELL
You will need the following:
--ace of wands, 10 of cups, the SUN,
--something for a baby you bought specifically for this ritual (a bib, a small blanket...etc.....),
--9 red candles.
Light the candles and lay out the tarot cards one by one.
Visualize yourself finding out your pregnant, staring at a positive pregnancy test. Repeat the following:
With these cards and with this spell- I call upon the good and helpful powers.
I desire to start a family - I desire energy and love to continue.
This small item (hold up the baby item) is the token of the commitment we are ready to make.
We are ready to love our children - we are ready to teach our children and we are ready to
have our children. so it is - so it shall be!
Seal this spell with kisses and hugs followed by the actions necessary to start a family.
Seashells represent fertility. She can create a small seashell altar in her bedroom.
If she wants to add a deity, I'd use the Goddess of Willendorf.
Any round and fertile/pregnant goddess will work, and there are many!
Holed stones are also symbols of fertility.
Have her carry one her person or have her wear one around her neck as a charm.
Placing one by the bed or between the matters is also good. Eat healthy!
Diet plays an extreme part in fertility. Use visualization.
She must be relaxed. Also, studies show that when the man and woman climax together,
the woman has a higher chance of conception. Full moons... In tribal times and pre-electricity,
women would ovulate around the Full Moon and menstruate around the Dark or New Moon.
One way to get yourself onto this cycle is to start paying more attention to the phases of
the moon and also going out under the moon for even a minute or two.

Vitamins and conceiving!
Today I actually told someone to take more zinc, and someone else to avoid things like "tea". Turns out the woman I told to avoid tea or things like it, confirmed shes a MASSIVE coffee drinker. (in her words)
So today I had to google what the "heck" zinc had to do with trying to conceive, and look at what i found!!!
here
Zinc Zinc is the most widely studied nutrient in terms of fertility for both men and women. It is an essential component of genetic material and a zinc deficiency can cause chromosome changes in either you or our partner, leading to reduced fertility and an increased risk of miscarriage. Zinc is necessary for your body to 'attract and hold' (utilise efficiently) the reproductive hormones, oestrogen and progesterone. And it's equally important for your partner: zinc is found in high concentrations in the sperm. Zinc is needed to make the outer layer and tail of the sperm and is, therefore, essential for the health of your partner's sperm and, subsequently, your baby. Interestingly, several studies have also shown that reducing zinc in a man's diet will also reduce his sperm count.Just thought I would pass this on to everyone as I think its great to look into if your having delays with trying to conceive!

Healthy Sperm!!
Sperm counts have slumped by almost 50% in the last five decades and even when no problems have been detected, it now takes the average seemingly healthy couple 11-12 months to conceive.
When you consider that about 300 million sperm will be trying to make their way to the cervix, but only one million will make it that far, and out of that one million only 200 will make it to the fallopian tubes, only to bounce off the egg while trying to get in (through a wall that’s 300% thicker than the head of the sperm), it’s a wonder that any of them ever make it.
Yet they do, of course, but there are certain nutrients they need - for their health and motility.
Damaged sperm may not be able to fertilise the egg, or may lead to a pregnancy that isn't able to go to term. A lot of sperm damage is caused by free radicals, so a diet high in antioxidants may help protect sperm cells from this damage. Taking a broad spectrum of antioxidants together has been shown to be more effective than taking single antioxidants.
To give sperm the best chance possible, you will need the following nutrients in your diet and supplement programme (not in any particular order of importance):
1. Water. It's crucial to drink enough water, as dehydration will lead to low semen volume. Aim to drink a minimum of one litre of water per day, and more when you're exercising.
2. Zinc is an essential component of genetic material and a deficiency in this important mineral can cause chromosome changes in either you or your partner. Deficiency can lead to reduced fertility and an increased risk of miscarriage. Zinc is also required for the reproductive hormones oestrogen and progesterone. Zinc is found in high concentrations in the sperm where it is needed to make the outer layer and tail of the sperm and is therefore essential for sperm health and, subsequently, your baby. Zinc needs to be continually replaced, as a significant amount is lost with each ejaculation. Good sources of zinc include meat, fish, pumpkin seeds, rye, oysters, almonds, brazil nuts, ginger, eggs and leafy greens.
3. Selenium has antioxidant qualities which help to protect against the effects of free radicals within the body that can cause chromosomal damage. It is also needed to maximise sperm formation and is required for testosterone production. Low levels of selenium are linked to infertility. Brazil nuts, sesame seeds, garlic, whole grains and brown rice are good sources of selenium.
4. Essential Fatty Acids. The word 'Essential' means that they are essential to life, cannot be made in the body, and must be obtained from the diet. They include omega 3 and omega 6 - both of which have important roles to play in reproductive health.
Essential Fatty Acids are also crucial for healthy hormone functioning. They break down in the body to produce prostaglandins for healthy semen. They also help to promote good levels of healthy, mobile sperm.
The main sources of omega 3 are oily fish and flaxseed, and omega 6 is found in nuts and seeds. It is crucial to find these oils as fresh as possible. The most important, omega 3 from fish oil, should be free from toxins - avoid cheap versions which may not have been properly tested for toxicity.
5. Vitamin E has powerful anti oxidant qualities. Dr Marilyn Glenville, a well respected expert in this field, states that vitamin E supplements have been shown to help fertilization and in one study by researchers at the University of Sheffield, it was found that taking high doses - 600mg of vitamin E every day for three months - improved the quality of sperm in 20% of men with poor sperm performance. wheat germ, nuts and seeds, avocado, green leafy vegetables and free range eggs.
6. Vitamin C is an antioxidant. This helps protect sperm and the DNA within it from damage. Vitamin C can help prevent sperm clumping together (agglutination).
Good sources include fruits and vegetables, especially peppers, kiwi, citrus fruits, berries and tomatoes.
7-9. The amino acids L-Arginine, L-Carnitine and Taurine are required for the normal production and functioning of sperm, aiding sperm quantity, quality and motility. Deficiencies in L-arginine are linked to immature sperm development. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein, so eating sufficient good quality protein is vital.
10. Folic Acid. Early indications suggest that Folate (Folic Acid) may be as important for healthy sperm, as it is for women during pregnancy.
It is found in dark green leafy vegetables, avocados, carrots, apricots and egg yolks.
11. CoQ10 Another powerful and protective antioxidant which is essential for sperm motility and energy. CoQ10 is also vital for good cardiovascular function and blood circulation. Found in organ meats liver, kidney and heart.
12. MACA has been used for many years to improve male fertility, to increase seminal fluid, sperm count and mobility, for impotence and erectile dysfunction.
What makes Maca so effective, especially in the areas of fertility imbalance is that rather than introducing hormones from outside (whether chemical or natural) Maca encourages the glands in the body to produce the hormones it needs itself according to the individuals unique requirements.

Some dos and don'ts for getting pregnant
I thought that these were pretty funny!
-
Do limit movement after intercourse. Standing up after intercourse can cause the semen to leak out. Try to wait twenty minutes after sex before getting up and moving around.
-
Do try to keep the sperm inside your vagina longer. You can hold the labia together to try to keep the sperm inside of you. You can also try putting a pillow under your pelvis to help tilt your body so the sperm can travel upwards easier.
-
Do try to make sex enjoyable. Sometimes when a couple is trying to conceive it will affect the quality of their sex life. More enjoyable sex means higher sperm count and better "swimmers".
-
Do limit male masturbation prior to the days you are trying to conceive. It will help to increase the man's sperm count and improve your chances of getting pregnant.
-
Do take prenatal vitamins if you are trying to conceive. Folic acid and other vitamins are very important during the first trimester of pregnancy.
-
Don't drink alcohol or use drugs at the time of conception. This applies to both the male and female. There is strong evidence that alcohol can effect your chances of getting pregnant.
-
Don't douche after having intercourse. It can wash out the sperm that has just entered your body.
-
Don't have oral sex prior to intercourse. There is some evidence that the bacteria in the mouth can cause damage to male sperm.
-
Don't have anal sex prior to intercourse. Bacteria in the anas can be carried into the vagina from the man's penis. If you do have anal sex before intercourse, make sure your partner washes his penis first.

Potato chips a male contraceptive?
I wanted to alert you to some information that
I just dug up in my research.
Have you every heard of gossypol? No? Well,
I hadn't either. Turns out it is a toxic substance
found in the cotton plant, which is mostly removed
through hydrogenation when making cottonseed
oil. Why should you care? Well, it turns out that
gossypol is basically like a male birth control
pill. It greatly reduces male sperm count and
sperm motility, and was actually being considered in
China for use as a male contraceptive.
While most of the gossypol is removed from
the cottonseed oil, some of it is still there. So,
to be on the safe side, it's probably best for
your partner to avoid products made with
cottonseed oil. This would typically be some
salad dressings and especially snack foods--
such as potato chips.
Please check out the labels and stay away. As
I discuss in my book, Personal Path To Pregnancy,
there are several ways you can focus on nutrition
to improve your fertility. This includes eating more
of some things and definitely staying away from others.
If you want to learn more about ways to
increase your chances of getting pregnant, check

Can Yoga help you concieve?
I thought others might want to check out this link, they sell a DVD called "Bend Breathe & Conceive" Fertility Yoga. There are testimonials on there and seems that the DVD is really cheap! Check out the site and find out more information for yourself and see if this would be a benefit to you!
Here is a tidbit from the site
Trying to conceive is among the most exciting times in our lives, filled with hope and exciting plans for the future.
But as many of us know all too well, trying to conceive can also be a time of great stress and anxiety, with pressure that steadily increases month after month.
This tension that comes with trying to achieve pregnancy comes with consequences of its own. “Fertility frustration” triggers the release of stress hormones, which in turn have a negative impact on reproductive balance and our ability to conceive.
Yoga can help to restore your reproductive balance and counter the effects of stress in a way that encourages successful conception. In fact, a recent clinical study found that just 10 weeks of yoga resulted in significantly increased conception rates.
