How to make and use your vision board

I am just starting on my own vision board, and was curious as to what other people put on their boards, and came across an article that I thought might be worth while for those of you who are thinking about making your own, but require more information. Once mine is done, I will post a picture of it:)

HOW TO MAKE AND USE YOUR VISION BOARD

Your personal vision board is only limited by the extent of your own creativity. Some of my students have produced simple vision boards and others have made vision boards that could probably sell at an art show for hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. Having artistic ability is not a prerequisite for creating a functional vision board however and the procedures I’ve outlined below can be used by anyone.

The general elements that a well-designed vision board should include are:

Visual. Your subconscious mind works in pictures and images, so make your vision board as visual as possible with as many pictures as you can. You can supplement your pictures with words and phrases to increase the emotional response you get from it.

Emotional. Each picture on your vision board should evoke a positive emotional response from you. The mere sight of your vision board should make you happy and fuel your passion to achieve it every time you look at it.

Strategically-placed. Your vision board should be strategically placed in a location that gives you maximum exposure to it. You need to constantly bath your subconscious mind with it’s energy in order to manifest your desires quicker than you hope.

Personal. Negative feelings, self-doubt, and criticism can damage the delicate energy that your vision board emits. If you fear criticism or justification of your vision board from others, then place it in a private location so it can only be seen by yourself.

Supplies Needed

Foam core board (recommended) or poster board
A large assortment of magazines. You want to make sure that these are in color. You can go to various businesses or hospitals to ask for their old issues.
Glue. I prefer the dispenser type tape rollers, commonly used to mount photos because they are clean and won’t damage your pictures.
Scissors
(Optional) Color inkjet or laser printer
(Optional) 3 1/3” x 4” or larger printer labels. I use Avery #5164 mailing labels that work great.
(Optional) Internet access

Step 1—Compile your pictures. Start by going through your magazines and compiling all the pictures that you can find that are relevant to your goal. Don’t evaluate the pictures or start pasting them onto your board. Just stack them into a pile. If you are internet saavy, then a much quicker method that I do myself is to use an internet search engine to find good pictures that I can use for my board. You can either print the pictures out on paper and then glue it to the board, or print the pictures out onto a self-adhesive label so that it becomes a sticker. This is the preferred method because it is takes much less time to do and you can pinpoint your pictures using very good technology at your hands. Make sure that each image that you put on your board resonates with your heart and makes you excited at the mere look of it. It’s also important when selecting pictures to include anything that is congruent with your goal, such as any changes in your life that might result from obtaining your goal. So if your goal is to have a six figure income, then select pictures of a lifestyle that is congruent with your six figure income. Asking yourself the following questions might help you design a congruent vision board:

What would you do differently when you realize your goal?
Where would you travel?
Where would you live?
What would you wear?
What things would you own?
What kind of vehicle would you drive?
What would you do for work?...Or would you work?
Who would you help?

Step 2—Sort and Cut. Go through your pile of pictures and select the ones that impact you the most emotionally. Cut the extraneous material away from the image.

Step 3—Arrange and glue. Start arranging your pictures creatively on your board. Don’t worry about being artistic—that’s not the point. The point is that your board should resonate with your emotions. Arrange your pictures in a way that gives you an emotional connection to your vision board. After you are satisfied with the arrangement, glue all your pictures in place. Additionally, you might want to add writing or drawing on your vision board if you feel that it would better resonate with your emotions. A feature unique to my vision boards is that I also put two labels on the bottom of board that read: “Date created: [today’s date]” and “Date Manifested: [blank]” This lets me know how long my vision has been gestating since its creation and also every time I look at my vision board, not only am I emotionally charged with the pictures, but I also feel an overwhelming sense to see it manifested to completion.

Step 4—Strategic positioning. The most important part of having a vision board is having it in a strategic location that gives you as much visual exposure to it throughout the day. For most of us, this is in the office, but if that is not possible or appropriate, then try your living room or your bedroom. Some people I know mount their vision boards on the ceiling above their bed so that it is the first thing they see when they wake up and the last thing they see when they go to sleep. If you are sensitive to what others might say of your vision board, then be sure to keep it in a safe area where only you will see it. Negative criticism or justification of your dreams can kill the energy that your vision board releases. As Brian Tracy states, “What they don’t know, can’t hurt you.”[7]

Step 5— Update your vision board. Your vision board has to inspire you. It has to charge you with renewed passion everytime you look at it and over time and as you progress closer towards your vision, you might find that some of the images or pictures on your vision board don’t really carry as much emotional impact on you as they did before. When this happens, you’ll want to update your vision board with new fresh images that do inspire you. You’re vision board is not a finished piece of art after its initial creation. It’s a dynamic piece of art that shifts and changes as your vision shifts and changes. Therefore, if you find your level of passion that your vision board gives you is growing weaker, then update it to bring fresh new emotions to it.

FAMOUS EXAMPLES OF THE LAW OF ATTRACTION

Here are three examples of famous people who have used the techniques of visualization to activate the law of attraction in their lives. Although not all of them specifically used vision boards to get what they wanted, the applications that they used were similar in function.

John Assaraf’s Vision Board. Successful entrepreneur and author, John Assaraf, brought the age-old concept of a vision board to the mainstream public by relating his story of it in the motivational documentary, The Secret. In May of 2000, John was working in his home office inside his beautiful new home in Southern California when his five-year old son came in and asked him what were in the dusty boxes in the corner of his home office. John told him that it contained his vision boards. His son didn’t understand what they were, so John opened one of the boxes to show him. When John pulled out the second board from the box, he began to cry. On it was a picture of a 7000 square foot house on top of six acres of spectacular land that he had seen and cut out from Dream Homes magazine in 1995. It was the exact house that he had just purchased several weeks prior—A sure testament to the law of attraction at work.

Bruce Lee’s Letter. The late martial arts legend and my own personal role-model, Bruce Lee, understood the power of the law of attraction. As a struggling entrepreneur and actor, Bruce sat down one day and wrote the following letter to himself: “By 1980, I will be the best known oriental movie star in the United States and will have secured $10 million dollars… And in return, I will give the very best acting I could possibly give every single time I am in front of the camera and I will live in peace and harmony.” In 1973, months after Bruce’s untimely death, the blockbuster movie Enter the Dragon was released in both the United States and China, elevating Bruce to the level of an international star. According to Jack Canfield, that very letter that Bruce wrote to himself is hanging up on one of the walls at Planet Hollywood in New York City.[8]

Jim Carrey’s Check. As a struggling young comedian trying to make it in the make or break city of Hollywood, Jim Carrey was just about ready to give up his dream of becoming a professional actor and comedian. He had just performed at an open mic session at one of the nightclubs in Los Angeles and had been booed off the stage by his audience. He sat by himself at the top of Mulholand Drive and looked out at the city below him—the city that held his future success or failure. He then pulled out his check book and wrote himself a check for $10 million dollars and made a note on it: “for acting services rendered.” He then carried that check with him in his wallet everywhere he went from that day forward. By 1995, after the success of his blockbuster movies: Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Dumb and Dumber, and The Mask, his contract price had risen to the price of $20 million dollars.[8]

Conclusion

Vision boards are an important tool in your success tool box. They are cheap to make and their potential value to you is immeasurable. Figure out what you want in your life and then commit yourself 100% towards making that first step of creating your vision board and activating the law of attraction to pull your dreams into reality.

what you want in life....can be yours!

I tell many of my clients, that your thoughts can be powerful. There are many things that you can do to try and better your situation and your life. If you focus on the positive you can acheive many things. I often tell my clients of having a "vision board" and try and explain the best way I can what it is, and how to do it. After mentioning it to another client today figured I would google it and see if I could locate a step by step instructions that would make it easier. This is what I found

Do you want to have a big house, big car, a lifestyle that you dream about?

Regardless of your current circumstances, all your dream can become real. What you need is to think and feel positively towards your dream.

Although this may sound easy, many people find it hard to visualize their dreams with vivid feelings.

To have positive energy vibration, you need to start by generating the feeling to make you feel as though you have already achieved your dreams. How can you go about generating such energy vibration?

This article aims to show you how you can generate and sustain positive energy by creating a vision board. Creating your vision board allows you to paint your dreams in advance.

Here are some key points you should use to create a effective vision board.

(1) Connect Your Feelings with The Pictures

Lets start off by getting a large sheet of white paper (6 feet by 6 feet. In Singapore, we call this
mahjong paper).

Next, you need some unwanted magazines. You are going to flip through these magazines and cut out the pictures which catch your attention. If you can't find the appropriate pictures, go to the internet to search for them and print them out with a color printer.

Next, go through these pictures which you have cut.

Ask yourself why do you choose them? How will you feel if you already have all these things in reality? Remember the positive feelings which you have.

(2) Keep Those Pictures Which Give You Positive Feelings

After Step 1, you may realize that you do not want some of the pictures you initially thought you want.
It is absolutely alright to feel in this way. You have just heightened your awareness level to what exactly will make you feel happy.

The key is you should only have the things you want on your vision board. There is no compromise on this. Even if you only end up having one picture, so be it.

A vision board, like your life is a self-discovering journey. Along the way, you may discover other
things you appreciate in your life. You can still cut out those pictures and stick them on your vision
board.

(3) Use Big Pictures

Use big pictures and big words to represent your dreams. You want to be able to see your vision easily.

(4) Do not Limit Your Imagination

In one of the interview report, Bob Proctor said that one common mistake people made was they often go after what they think they can achieve rather than what they really want.

Your task is to declare your true intention to the universe. Do not limit your imagination to what you
can ask for based on your perceived value of what you can achieve currently.

You do not need to know how to achieve your dreams. This is Universe's domain knowledge.
When your energy level and thoughts are in alignment, the universe will show you the way.

(5) Pin Your Vision Board At a Convenient Place

Once your vision board is ready, pin it up at a place where you can see it everyday.

Ideally, this place should be somewhere you will see first thing in the morning and last thing before you sleep.

See your vision board twice a day. Remind yourself of the feelings attached to the pictures you have cut out. Carry this feeling with you throughout the day and release it to the universe through your actions.

Now some of you may still doubt if this works. It absolutely does! How do i know? I did the same thing
and in just three weeks, I started to see my vision manifesting into reality.

So don't doubt the power of the secret vision board!

The boogeyman in your closet... or monsters under the bed?

I have been thinking about this for some time now, trying to put it all together. Most of us who already have children already here or remember as a child the "boogeyman in the closet" or a monster under the bed. What is it? An overactive imagination or is there something there that we as parents are no longer able to see?

I have the answer, and it might be more simple than you think. I actually think that our guides and loved ones who have passed over are in that area. Not that they are hiding in the closet and ready to jump out at you the first chance that they get...but because with the cover of the clothes and different shapes its easier for them to blend and not be noticed as easily.

So they are not right IN the closet, but seem to be right near it. So if your closet door is open chances are that they are standing in the doorway.

I know that kinda sounds creepy, but when your heading to bed, your more relaxed, they can come in and see you, and just send their love. Its easier to be in an area that wont grab your attention and startle you. So the closet it is!.

The other night, I actually went to the closet to close it a bit (I hate an open closet and has ALWAYS made me uneasy when I was going to bed) and actually had a vision of someone trying to pull me in! okay, I didn't get pulled in, but it was freaky enough that I closed the closet door in a hurray! I dont think that they would have actually done it, but I think that it was meant as a joke to provide me that mental image.

So the more I thought of it, the more I understood why alot of them would choose to come at that time, and why they would choose to be in that area.

So if the closet door is closed where are they? Probably located in a spot of your room where its more "busy". Do you have a book case, or a dresser with alot of things on it? The more to distract your eye the better!

Any thoughts?

Buzz.......buzz... no don't hit me! I might be the answer!

Found an interesting article that I thought might be of some use to everyone out there trying to concieve. I really had no idea... I am sure it would be worth while to test this theory out (unless of course your allergic to bees!)

A Honey Of A Treatment
An ancient Anglo-Saxon ritual has newlyweds drink honey each day during the first month following their nuptials. The wisdom of the times held that this practice would not only increase the fertility of new couples but might also help the male partner pleasure his wife for a longer period of time.

Even earlier, the ancient Semitic goddess Astarte, who is associated with love, war, maternity, sexuality, and fertility, was believed to be the one responsible for the existence of honey in this world. Of course, we have all heard of the biblical reference to the Holy Land as a, "land of milk and honey."

Now, modern nutritionists and others are making similar claims for the sticky stuff as an aid for increasing libido and enhancing fertility. Susan Fletcher is a major proponent of bee-byproducts as an aid to conception. Fletcher and her husband Clive Brockdorff are the owners of Apitherapy Foods, a Norfolk-based company producing products based on the output of over 2 million bees from their own apiary. Susan feels that the claims for honey and other bee products as conception-boosters are owing to the high levels of minerals found in these items. Bee pollen, for instance, which is a combination of bee saliva, pollen, and plant nectar, contains potassium, sodium, zinc, and copper plus 24 other minerals in addition to 20 of the 22 amino acids. "Put a woman who's struggling to conceive on bee pollen and you can pretty much guarantee a result within two or three months," says Susan.

Rejuvenating Effect
Research coming out of both Europe and the U.S. shows that bee pollen has a rejuvenating effect on the sex glands of both sexes. Aging glands respond well to the substances contained in this product. Bee pollen has an effect on the reproductive system that is both nourishing and stimulatory.

Some modern studies back up the old Anglo Saxon belief and suggest that bee pollen can increase male sexual endurance, improve sex dysfunction related to prostate issues, boost strength, have a stimulatory affect upon the ovaries, improve egg quality, and relieve premenstrual syndrome (PMS) symptoms.

Another bee byproduct is royal jelly. Royal jelly is food secreted by nurse bees intended for the nourishment of the queen bee as she develops into full maturity. While water is the major ingredient of royal jelly, it's also packed with B vitamins, amino acids, hormones, and natural enzymes.

Queenly Longevity
Could this food that is fit for a queen bee stand as the reason she lives for 5 years, compared to just 7 months for a worker bee? Experts use royal jelly to treat impotence, menopause, infertility and PMS. The food of queen bees has hormone-balancing properties and can also be useful for treating postpartum depression, migraines, and acne.

Sometimes weddings make you cry for the wrong reasons.

My cousin got married last night. A really nice ceremony and a really nice reception. I thought they did well with their decorations and the appitizers they served to all the guests. It was also really nice seeing family that you only seem to see at such events. Whether its a birthday, a funeral or a birth of a baby. We have such a large family (both my parents are one of 4 or one of 5 siblings) but we NEVER meet up. How sad is that!

Well, last night a Frank Sinatra song came on. My mom's husband was there and of course he burst into tears. It would have been the perfect song that I KNOW my mom and him would have danced to. I know she would have loved it. So by trying to console him, I too end up bursting into tears.

I headed to the bathroom to clean up my eyes, and my cousins girlfriend had seen me and came up and hugged me. I have never really had a chance to talk to her really well, so I really thought it was a nice thing that she did that. It truely touched me.

I know my mom would have been at the wedding in spirit, and crying during the ceremony (my mom would cry at everything) I also know the outfit she would have chosen and its clearly etched into my mind. I am wondering if its a mental image shes showing me to know shes there.

Today was a hard day. Woke up just feeling fine, around 10:30am all of a sudden went through a bout of vertigo! That was NOT fun! I ended up having to take a gravol just so I could function for the rest of the day. Trust me, its not fun going through your day as if you stood and spun around 50 times and then tried to walk!

The contest that happened recently I did NOT get an email with the person claiming the prize, So.. first person who has not had a reading before that replies in this post in the comment section will be the new winner. After posting your reply and refreshing to ensure that your first one, please email cheri22@gmail.com with "new winner" in the subject line so I can schedule your reading:)

Add Wedding Planner to my resume!

At least I was in my dream last night! I was asked to plan a wedding for Julia Roberts. I have no idea who she was marrying, but was to plan a wedding for ALOT of guests. It was to be a "who's who" but there was to be no expense spared when it came to the guests. She gave me a list of people to invite (no clue now who it was) and showed me this invitation that was VERY long, embossed in gold lettering (in my opinion it was REALLY hard to read). It basically was the invitation to the wedding, and that it was to take place in two different venues. I am not sure why, but I guess depending on what "level" you were of a friend or connection to her you got to be in one or the other?

She was even giving out "party bags" at the end of the night and wanted me to find stuff to put in it. The one thing that really sticks out in my mind and even what I remember most about this dream is that she had all of this make up out. There was TONS, and she was setting it up on this table so that everyone could try it and see if it was good quality to go in these gift bags for the guests. I remember her setting it down and a SWARM of people came over, all trying to get into the makeup. The sparkles in this liquid stuff was getting all over the table! (The people who know me, know I do NOT like big messes!). I started to internally panic thinking that it was just going to get everywhere, and this is where I woke up.

Sometimes I just write dreams off to be something that happened during the day, or perhaps even something I had seen on TV before going to bed (or in a book I was reading). When it really sticks out, I usually use www.dreammoods.com to find out if there are any messages for me to help me with my own life that I can't just see for myself.

Well, when I looked up makeup here is what it said
"To dream that you are wearing too much makeup, indicates that you are putting too much emphasis on beauty and outside appearances rather than what is inside."

So although I was not wearing the makeup, there was too much of it.

Now the background to this and why it makes sense... those of you who are friends on my facebook profile will probably remember a status update about a week or so ago wishing that we would look as young on the outside as we feel on the inside. I am starting to notice the grey hairs that seem to come more frequently after dying my hair.... seeing the wrinkles that line my face from being happy (my eyes and mouth). I am going to be 35 this year and although the age does not bothering me and getting older is "okay", its getting older in appearance that apparently is bugging me. Its been on my mind.

This dream is a reminder to remember its NOT about what is on the outside, but the inside. If you feel beautiful inside then that is what counts, because in reality, that is what is going to shine through.

I had to laugh, because when I did look up the information on dreammoods.com I knew the reference was from my mother. I was given an instant connection to the interpretation from her... I had to laugh, and did say "thanks mom" out loud.

So hopefully those of you who are "suffering' with the new wrinkles on your face, or the candles on your cake, just remember to take care of you on the inside first and more important.. because without a happy you, you can't be a "healthy you".

Its been one of those weeks....

I have been a bit off my rocker the last few days. Diagnosed with Strep Throat on friday, and in my own opinion a bit of the flu or perhaps food posioning. Starting sunday night, my stomach has been upset, feeling nauseous and food just not sitting right. So could be a side effect from the antibiotics or what I listed above. Its not been fun at my house!

Last night, laid down with my two year old while she fell asleep. Turns out I did too. Woke up an hour later feeling even worse (naps dont agree with me) so vowing not to do that tonight.

So haven't been online as much as I should have been which means I did not get a chance to announce the winner.. its .....drumroll please.....

Life is like a bunch of lego

I read most of the comments from the last post, so figured perhaps I would try and provide further insight about our paths here in life. Please excuse any spelling errors, but the spell check is missing from the blog post option!

As I have mentioned before, even before we start our journey in this life, we draw up blueprints of our lives. These are just the "basics" of the overall aspects we wish to learn about. These are "lessons" that we wish to learn in order to improve our overall well being and spiritual selves. Whether we choose to learn about hardship, or love... Or if we choose to learn about wealth and greed..etc. There are MANY aspects to the lessons we can choose from. Whether our main focus is just one, or up to five at a time. Its all decided before we get here.

This is where things get "tricky". Lets pretend that we are using our blue print to build a "house" (translate to life). To build this house, we are using different colors of lego.. Its our choice on what color to use, but the overall design is still going to remain the same.

So, translated means, that our life the overall aspects, lessons..etc. that we plan to learn are going to remain the same.. its our choice on how we get there. If you have not learned your lesson, you will continue to repeat it until you "get it".

For me, one of my lessons was about respecting myself. EVERY single boyfriend I dated cheated on me. It was just before I met my husband that I had realized that I did NOT need to let people treat me like crap or a doormat, and that I deserved better. That I had made a concious decision to not allow boyfriends to cheat on me, and be "okay" with it, or continue in the relationship thinking I could not do better. Thus, by learning my lesson I was able to move forward.

You can't just say "I learned my lesson" and then think that its going to move forward. You actually DO need to have learned it and make a concious effort to not continue in that way/path.

Now this goes for relationships as well. If your with someone who is not treating you well and you make a concious decision to leave, does this mean you learned your lesson? Well it really depends on why you decided to leave. Did you learn what drew you to that person in the first place? Are you willing to realize that you CAN make a decision on what makes you happy and what does not? This is usually the first part of learning your lesson is realizing that you have a choice here.

So many different choices can change the color we use to build our house, but will not change the overall design.

In a question posted on the last post, they asked if they were predicted four, but their husband wished to remain at three, what would happen. Well if you made the choice to stay at three, then you are just changing the colors of your lego house. This would perhaps also shape things differently in your life. There might be another child that your children introduce you to, that you feel connected with, almost like "one of your own". Or perhaps you will end up looking after another child more so than what you normally would have... its always going to find a way into your life, as the overall "design" will still be the same, its just a different way to get there. So if you decide not to go for the fourth, your just changing on how that "fourth" interacts with your family.

Please let me know if this makes sense:) Its hard to interpret when they are just showing me lego in multiple colors and building a house with it:)
