SPIRIT GUIDES
So, what are Spirit Guides, how many do you have and how do you connect them and do you need them? Spirit Guides are just that, beings on the "other side" that help you when YOU ask for it. That is a big catch - all human beings have free will and your guides and angels will not interfere unless you ask them for help. How many do you have? I don't think you always know how many but I can assure you that whatever you need, there will be someone there for you. You can have just one or just call upon one, or you can have several. With my own development, I have 3 main guides, one is my general go to guide, one is my healing guide and the last is the guide I do my my readings with. How do u contact them? The easiest way is to just ask. I know that sounds silly but it really is that simple. Even if you don't see them or feel them they will still be there. If you need more confirmation you can do meditations and ask for them to be there, they will, most likely, be happy to be there for you. Do you need them? Of course you don't. BUT they are there when you will need them.

That's very interesting. Are your spirit guides usually people you knew at one time?
they can be? I feel my mom is a spirit guide, who directs which spirit guide I need,lol just like her. I do have one a man from the 50's who helps me with my healings. I have one named Annabelle, who seems like she is from the 70's or 80's just a feeling I get. BUT many people have passed loved ones as their guides, and you would find this out through spirit guide meditations. :)

I believe that the people that were in the same life as you during this time are not your 'spirit guide" as per say, but do help you with guidance like what a spirit guide would do.
My two main spirit guides are Tomas, and Serlina. When asking to see what they look like, they both flood me with an image and it just feels right.
My mom too has passed, (march 8, 2010) and although she is not my spirit guide (which is someone that your born into this life watching over you), she too helps out. Providing insight, and ideas in different aspects, and helping out where she can. So "like" a spirit guide, but with out the job title.
Why do these spirit guides choose to attach themselves to us? Are they long lost relatives? Do you offer a spirit guide meditation reading? Or is this done through a mediumship reading? Sorry about all the questions, but this topic is interesting and I don't think many people understand it. (including me)
When you ask for your spirit guides to give you a sign regarding a topic....how do you know its actually them giving you a sign...and not me seeing what I want to see....is there anyway to tell the difference??

In regards to spirit guides. Your main ones are here with you are birth. Your spirit guide will NEVER be someone that was in the same life as you. (this does not include relatives who passed before you were born). They are the people that we make a pact with before we even come into this existance. The person who will help guide us on our journey. Ensuring that we are staying on the right path. If we need help and are feeling lost, it is them that help to put the path right in front of us again. Showing us signs/direction to get us back on course. (So pay attention!).
Usually you have ONE main spirit guide. The one that is here for all intents and purposes. Helping you with whatever direction you take. There are also "minor" guides who will focus on specific lessons/paths.
Meditation is the easiest way to communicate with your guides and learn their inner voice. Although you might not always get the answer you want, they will try and show you the way.
As for thinking its yourself or your guides (or even loved one who have passed) there is definately a difference and with practice you will learn the difference. Its about being confident in yourself and not second guessing what your "hearing".

when speaking of my mom, she is always around when my spirit guides are, and i agree with Cheri 100% on her depiction of what they are. i struggled with messages from them for awhile. youwill know, with meditation and practice you will just know. i know you tube has spirit guide meditations, i have done some of them. :)
@ Suzanne, could you possibly find a link to one of the meditations on youtube that you liked/enjoyed that others might be able to benefit from it as well? Might be easier if you located one for them so that you new it was a good one and their first experinece was great:)
