Happy Valentines Day!~

Okay this is a short but sweet post! lol. (sorry, funny using the word sweet as its usually candy and such for valentines day!)

my husband and I usually do not celebrate valentines, but this year we managed to go out for dinner with another couple (this is totally rare for us, usually the kids are in tow). The restaurant the other couple choose is EXPENSIVE and I told my husband that it was the first and LAST time we ate there. Lets just say that his dinner alone was THIRTY ONE DOLLARS!!! Yes, there is no spelling error there! lol.

Well I figured I would do something fun for valentines day... For every 10 comments in the comment box I will give away one reading. (combo of myself, Leah and brooke777 depending on how many comments are left). This is good for up to FIVE people to win readings!!!. The draw will be completely random and will allow this contest until WEDNESDAY before announcing the winners! Good luck!

We're the same, Valentine's Day isn't a big deal. We'll likely have a nice dinner at home and watch the Olympics on TV.
I completely understand the shock for an expensive dinner. My husband is a fine dining Chef and it's taken me a long time to enjoy food that costs $40-$50./person. Hope the food was good!

Happy Valentines Day..that's the first time I've said it today. We don't really celebrate it either. I'm not one that enjoys flowers that are essentially dead. Although it does give my husband and I an excuse for going to eat. I guess the best thing that happened today was that my parents gave my husband and I two miniature Schnauzer puppies.

Happy Valentines Day Cheri,

My husband and I dont get too wrapped in this hoiliday. We b=never buy each other cards or gifts butrather try to be special and kind to eachother when we can and we take birthdays seriously and add an element of surprise to this speicazl day. We had a couple over and we watched a movie and the Olympics. We had a great rime and enjoyed one another as a couple and that is what V day is all about!

my husband and I went out to a very expensive dinner as well. We knew going there that everything was a la carte. He has been there before with friends, I had never gone before. We know it's not something we really do for ourselves, so we decided to just go for it and enjoy it. And boy did we!!

My husband had to work the entire weekend!! We celebrated V-day early. He suprised me with a Build-a-bear that he made for me. I bought him a nightstand. Hope you ladies had a great Valentines day!

We didn't celebrate either, although we never normally do much on valentines anyway. My husband was just off night shift this year, so he romantically snored the day away whilst I toddler-wrangled. ;oP

I hope you had a lovely Valentines day, and the meal was worth the $$$!

Cheri - I hope you at least enjoyed the dinner that you guys paid so much for lol i'm such a picky eater those kind of places are usually too gourmet for me ;) we didn't do much for vday either, but my hubby did give me the cutest card with such a heartfelt note in it. :D

Happy Valentine's Day! I hoped you enjoyed your dinner even if it was expensive. Sometime's it's just nice to get out. This year we took our daughter's to the movies to see The Tooth Fairy, then to Frienly's (and I had gift certificate's for everything, so it didn't cost us anything!) We just had a nice day enjoying each other's company!

We do not celebrate Valentine's Day. My husband says he does not want some card company telling him when he should do something special. When we first got started dating several years back it bothered me, but I got used to it and agree with him. Everyday should be a special day of love. We stayed in the other day, burned a few logs in the fireplace, and watched movies. It was great!! As for your dinner... That is not a bad price. Typically we spend about double that to go out every weekend. Don't think about the price. Enjoy the experience.

$31 for 1 meal. Yikes. I like Applebee's and their "2 for $20" special...thats where me and my hubby went. Fairly cheap but he got his steak and it was good. :o)

My hubby and I don't usually celebrate v-day as well, but we usually do something to commemorate the day that he proposed which is a few days later. :)

...tee hee and there was no fine print that said one person couldn't leave multiple comments so I'm hoping this will help bump up the number past 30! lol

Happy late Valentine's Day to everyone. We don't celebrate either but did spend a nice quiet relaxing day together so that's all I'd really want anyway. Unfortunately stupid AF was here for Vday so we couldn't be more romantic, lol. Danielle T.

Happy belated Valentines day! I usually don't celebrate this day, but my boyfriend spoiled me with a beautiful heart necklace. I think he's a keeper!

Glad you had a dinner out! Sounds very nice!

I was working during the day and came home to a wonderful home cooked meal by my husband with beautiful roses and chocolate covered strawberries(my favorite!)
I'd much rather stay in than spend it with the ridiculous prices and overcrowded restaurants. Hope you had a great dinner

Happy belated Valentine's Day. I can't remember the last time my husband I exchanged gifts for this holiday. He bought me a nice bottle of wine this year, though. I must admit I felt pretty special. I wasn't expecting anything, so I suppose that's the reason it seemed like a big deal. Let's face it, Valentine's Day usually removes the element of suprise from these sorts of things.

I hope the food and service were excellent. They should be for that kind of money.

How was the dinner? I hope wonderful! We spent time with our sons' and decorated their area for Valentine's. I did well until we left, then I started crying. We built then snowmen also, since we finally had a real snow in Texas..haha Saturday was our Valentine's day because we went to a spa and had a couple's package. We got a massage, time in a eucalyptus infared sauna, aromatherapy scalp massage, and a foot and hand treatment. They also gave you champagne and truffles. I loved the truffles! They were from Hungary. I also worked this weekend due to the NBA All-Star game. At least I made the money back that we spent!!

Cheri, It's been a while since I celebrated V-day but one of my favorite V-days was very simple I was given roses and we went out for dinner and ate a lot of food and shared some laughs, so simple but yet memorable.
