it was supposed to be funny....

April fools is always a fun day I think. My sense of humor I think is good and can usually take a joke. Have been known to call my mother, my sister or even my aunt and tell them that I was pregnant.. Have called my aunt to say that I heard her daughter was pregnant and to say congrats on being a grandmother again....all in the name of fun.. and my family "gets it" and all thought it was funny. I figured I would try and post something on the blog that would be "funny" but honestly its 11:30pm here, I am tired and about to head to bed, and I just couldn't think of anything that would be a trick, that would not be taken the wrong way. Perhaps my brain is already asleep and my fingers are just typing on their own!
So... lets all have a good laugh, post in the comments section about an April fools joke that happened to you or that you did to someone else(at any point in your life) that was either really funny or kinda crappy! (that you can laugh about now).
The winner gets a FAMILY BYPASS reading from ME! I will announce the winner SUNDAY.
(PS, my intentions are to call my sister tomorrow morning all excited and tell her I won the lottery.. the drawing would have happened last night!) If only that really happened! lol

Hi
Well I remember one April Fools day joke in particular, i was in elementary school grade 4 or 5 maybe. And the teachers lined us up and told us well all had to get needles. They told us it was mandatory and that there was some type of illness going around. Well to a 9 or 10 year old you would naturally get nervous. Ok i was downright crying my eyeballs out. And then the teachers said that they hate to inform us but the needles were very long. A few of us kids were in tears. And then they could take it anymore (watching us little ones get upset) April Fool's. Wow wouldn't that be child abuse? Ha Ha! Good thing the teachers were very sympathetic and gave us sensitive ones a bit of TLC! I'll never forget that!!

The company that I work for get large boxes in all the time, well someone thought that it would be funny to call me to the back to help move the box, because it was heavy. As soon as I started helping move the box, someone jumped out at me. Then another time, I had someone call me to the back to check something out. Well, as soon as I opened the door, there was a box moving on the floor. The employee told me that there was some kind of animal under the box. Then all of a sudden, I saw a grey tail come out of the side. It scared me. I told the employee to open the back door, so that we could push it out the back and close the door. Once the door was open, the employee came over to the box and lifted the box off the floor and threw the animal at me, turns out it was of those fake animal toys that flips its tail from side to side. As soon as she did took the top off, the yelled "April Fool's Day". You would think that I would learn by now about going to the back to deal with a box...

My daughter was born in January 2008. On April Fool's Day, when she was only 3 months old, I showed my husband a POSITIVE pregnancy test. Now, that's a blessing, BUT not with a 3-month-old baby! He flipped out, of course! :) I had asked a friend of mine who was pregnant to pee on the stick for me. Heeheehee...I still chuckle at this, but poor husband still doesn't think it's fuhnny. Oh well :)
I remember in the past on April Fools I would joke I was pregnant. Well karma decided to get me back LOL... On April Fools 2008 I realized I was indeed pregnant. I was afraid to tell anyone I was pregnant because I was too scared no one would take me serious including my parnter. Hows that for an April Fools =)

I woke up this morning and told myself that I needed to remember it was April Fools and NOT fall for anything....Well my husband called me at lunch and said that when he came home for lunch my son (14yrs) was laying on the couch with an ice pack on his head. Said he was out playing basketball, fell and hit his head on the bricks. He said I needed to come home right away because it was a pretty large gash and he needs stiches. I was so upset that my son didn't call and tell me what happened - how could he hurt himself and not tell me. I told him OK I will be right home. As I was hanging up the phone my husband says, Hey honey....what day is it? Darn him. I fell for it! He was thought it was pretty funny! He gets me every year!
Today my husband's desk-mate at work hooked up a small hose to an air can and then fed the hose around the computer and under the keyboard. When my husband was deep in thought typing away, he sprayed the air and it blew right in his face and scared him half to death. The best part was that he videotaped it for me! :)
My car, which is a mini-van, so it's the family car on the weekends and the car I take daily to work. I also drop off and pick up our youngest son to/from daycare in this car. So, it is due for its yearly inspection...it was actually due by the end of February....we just haven't had a chance to drop it off and be without our family car for a day.
Well, I HATE driving in it with expired inspection. My husband has been dropping the ball on calling for an appointment, the car needs tires as well and last time we did try to make an appointment, they didn't have my tires in stock and would have to order them....so, needless to say, car didn't get inspected.
So....I was going to work yesterday morning and decided to get my husband!! So I called him, upset, telling him I had gotten pulled over and was getting a ticket, but on top of that, the cop was making me leave my car right where it was and that I could not drive it until it got inspected....so he had to come pick me up at the police station!! So curse words start flying....there's yelling, etc....he says he was already on the local highway in our area so he will have to get off the next exit and come back towards home. I told him I had to call work so we hung up. I waited a couple minutes, didn't really want him to get off the highway so I texted him back not to get angry but April Fools!! He was angry but it worked....I am off today so where is my car, we dropped it off last night at the shop!!! :-)
My husband is a April Fools baby. And his told me some funny stories about that.... I sadly have never played or had played on me a April Fools joke. I have thought about jokes that I would do.
A group of us at work actually planned an April Fools joke for my boss on Thursday and we had our colleague in Alberta call our boss to tell him she was retiring. She has a pretty important position, so it would have been a shock for him to find this out. The other thing was that b/c it was always his staff in Ontario playing these jokes on him, he didn't suspect a thing. We got a few other managers in Alberta to play along and were able to keep it up for a couple of hours. He was definitely relieved to find out it was all a joke!
I'm stumped, I can't recall any April Fools pranks. The best surprise that I've had was my son was born on April 1--I was six days past my due date and he decided to make his debut on April Fools day. I'm sure he'll have his fair share of April Fools jokes as he grows up.
We had our youngest daughter, last April Fool's day call her grandparents (She was in kindergarten at the time) to say she got sent to the principles office. When they askeed her what for she said she had kicked a boy for being mean to her so she got in trouble. Then she said "April Fool's" They all belived her, and my husband and myself were trying to laugh quiet while she was on the phone. They said that they could actually picture her doing something like that!
