Disaster Diverted!

okay maybe not "disaster" but definitely would have been a complete inconvenience!
I worked quite a bit on Thursday during the day as I was taking my daughter to the Disney Princess on ice thursday night. I knew we were staying at a friends house and had no computer access. (event is 2 hours from my house and was over late!)
So friday morning, spent a few hours visiting my sister and my nephew and helped clean her house (she was having a house guest for the weekend and not able to do it due to the c-section) So my daughter and I pitched in! My daughter LOVES to clean the toilet! Funny, but she does a great job!
Anyways, get home around 3pm, and try to get to some emails, and guess what.. NO INTERNET!!!!! My computer goes on, but the model light flashes. After spending 1/2hour with Telus (My internet provider) on the phone, she mentions that she would have to send a technician to come and take a look, and next appt was MONDAY!!! ACK! I informed her I work from home, and that by them not coming till monday that she was shutting me down for four days. After talking to the manager, they said that they would "try" to squeeze me in on Saturday (today). She told me to call the number on Sat morning to inquire if I could be on the list and have someone come over.
I called 8:30am today and waited 45 MINUTES before a rep came on the phone. I gave them my job number I was given, asked if I was on the list for today, which he said that they are really busy and fully booked, but would try and squeeze me in. If no one came by 4:30pm today I would have to recall and be on the monday wait list :(.
Well the tech came by around 12:30pm, and determined it was my modem! I am not sure if anyone remembers, but about 4-5 months ago I had no internet for a few days, and it was the EXACT same problem! So gave me a new modem for nothing, set me back up. I thanked him so much for squeezing me in today, and he informs me that it was no problem as he didn't have alot of jobs to do today and says that Saturdays are really slow??? WHAT??? I explained how the tech told me how busy they were and it would be hard to get someone here, and he kinda chuckled. So in 20 min my Internet was back up!
So, just wanted to let you know what happened to me last night, I couldn't get any emails done and felt so "naked" without my Internet! lol

Glad your back up! And it doesn't surprise me about the internet company. Saw a segment on tv yesterday on internet companies, and how your not getting your money's worth when you purchase higher speed. It's all in the wording,your paying up to the highest speed-- but your not getting exactly the top speed. Hmmmm.
