getting a good jump on the day!

Well, I managed to put the baby down for a nap while my eldest is in kindergarten!!! How is that for cool? usually the naps don't line up this way. So here I am sneaking on the computer while shes sleeping, going to do the reading give away for the secret psychic and hopefully get a few readings completed while she naps! Wish me luck!
Okay, as you know there is only a few opportunities for the secret psychic before I announce who she is, and then if anyone is interested you can contact her for a reading. The people who have won so far have provided good feedback for their readings. The latest winner (niki thanks to julie passing on her prize!) has yet to contact me, but have asked her for feedback as well. I like to keep up to date on peoples experience so I can let everyone know.
For this contest, I kinda like to mix it up. I know most of you are interested in further developing your talents, but I do know that there are some people who are still a bit too shy or unsure about their talents and enjoy being able to participate as well. So this is a "non" psychic reading giveaway. Which means EVERYONE can enter!!!!
I like to say I am organized, I usually try and keep things like that, so at times I might have to consider myself a control freak! I can deal well with change if I am the one that initiates it, or if I am "alerted" to it about to happen. Other times when something is changed on me, when its something I have planned and felt good about, I feel "off" and will usually catch me off guard and makes my day feel screwy! I am sure others can attest. Its just a matter of me "resetting" myself but at times it does not happen as fast.
Okay, so this contest is where you enter your tips on something you find helps you to stay organized. Something other mom's might find useful and fun. It does not matter if you find someone posted the same or similar in the comments section, just go ahead and post your ideas as well.
I will start!
Did you know that when you take two girls (as in my daughter and her friend) to swimming lessons, while they are washing off the chlorine in the shower, if you put out their clothes in the order they like to put it on, that it saves valuable time and headaches? I learned that the hard way! The first time was a nightmare! (okay, not that bad but drove me crazy) the clothes were all out, they were inside out, took forever and the baby was upset!. So, the next time, I sorted the clothes, made them right side right (is that a word?) and got it ready as they showered. My daughter puts her underwear on first, then her shirt, pants, socks, shoes.. her friend does underwear, pants, shirt, socks, shoes...etc. So I found putting them in layers on the table in the order they like, cut down on the time we were in their changing, they were able to do it themselves, and the baby stayed happy! No Chaos!
So, as you know, post in the comments section with your idea/tips, if you can't think of something, google is your friend! I will allow ANY tips/tricks that you will think will help other moms (and dad's) to stay organized! Please include an email address and or login name so that you can be identified should you win. I will draw the winner TUESDAY morning to allow enough time for people to enter!
Also on a side note, we are now announcing ELIZABETH into the mix for the free readings. I am just verifying with Lyuda that shes still in (As I think she might have gotten a bit busy) and then we will have FOUR in total. I will alternate between me, Brooke777, Elizabeth and Lyuda each THURSDAY for a free reading give away!

im not a parent yet but i know from getting myself organised for that day you have to be prepared the night before!
i often run round mad in the morning ironing my clothes, making my lunch, doing my hair! i couldnt imagine doing that for someone else too!
So be prepared for the day ahead!!

I'm not a parent yet either, but my favorite organization tip is keeping the medicine cabinet organized. I put things for could/flu in one plastic container, ear infections, allergies, anti-depressants/anxiety, fertility meds, antibiotics, ect. In those boxes I also keep all the natural remedies for each ailment. I do the same for make up... foundation in one drawer (plastic organizer), skin care, blush/bronzer, eye makeup, and then tools.
I use the good ol' to do list. Daily weekly and monthly! Works great for me.
My co-worker says he picks out his clothes and his 3 yr olds clothes the night before so it make it easier to get everyone going in the mornings.
I like schedules and lists and my blackberry:) I am definitely a list person and find its helps when I am over whelmed!
I like to write things on the calender, using electronic organizers didn't work for me and neither did planners. Just the gold, old fashioned calendar! I even write when to study on the calendar. That way when I wake up I know which supermarket is having 10% tuesday, and which appointment I have.
For the moment it's just my husband and I. we're trying for a baby. I write EVERYTHING on the calender, we pass it everyday so my husband knows when bills are due, when we have a doctor appt or anything else. It helps for everything...
Cheers...

I get everything ready the night before. Including the diaper bag, backpack, and clothes laid out. Also I'm a firm believer in routine. Bed time, bath time, dinner time is always the same. That way the kids know what to expect and when to expect it. :-)

I find the list thing goes a long way. My step daughter is 10 so she actually makes her own list so she can follow it so things are done in the order she prefers.
Awesome tip about the swimming too Cheri! Ill remember that one!
Separate clothes baskets - one for whites, one for colors, one for dirty work clothes, one for baby clothes, etc. This works well as long as you have your family trained! When clothes come off the body, they go into the right basket...no more sorting laundry!

I also set everything out the night before.. My husband is the only one to get up and go so it's a little easier for me lol.. But I like to have everything in order. His cloths in the bathroom, his watch, wallet, and meds on the kitchen counter with a glass of water, then his shoes at the door. It works great... I also do the calender... Everything is written on it, like MaryM and trying1009, doc apps, days off, paydays, bills, everything.

I also am a fan of writing things down....I also store appts and such on the calendar on my phone w/alerts so I don't forget!
To keep my emails organized and my inbox clean, I have seperate folders to move emails to. (Bills, Doctor, My parents, Husbands parents, etc.) Makes it so much easier to find the emails when you need to.
