Potato chips a male contraceptive?

I signed up for this newsletter ( The link to the site is listed below) and found this information really interesting and really thought perhaps other people might like to hear this, or even explore this information more!

I wanted to alert you to some information that
I just dug up in my research.

Have you every heard of gossypol? No? Well,
I hadn't either. Turns out it is a toxic substance
found in the cotton plant, which is mostly removed
through hydrogenation when making cottonseed
oil. Why should you care? Well, it turns out that
gossypol is basically like a male birth control
pill. It greatly reduces male sperm count and
sperm motility, and was actually being considered in
China for use as a male contraceptive.

While most of the gossypol is removed from
the cottonseed oil, some of it is still there. So,
to be on the safe side, it's probably best for
your partner to avoid products made with
cottonseed oil. This would typically be some
salad dressings and especially snack foods--
such as potato chips.

Please check out the labels and stay away. As
I discuss in my book, Personal Path To Pregnancy,
there are several ways you can focus on nutrition
to improve your fertility. This includes eating more
of some things and definitely staying away from others.

increase your chances of getting pregnant, check
